I am not able to provide personal support for any of my projects. Use them at your own risk.
Everything on this blog is just me documenting my hobby with “notes to self”. I’ve opted to publish them as I’d be making notes anyway and why not make them somewhere where someone else might get some use out of them too?
As such, everything is provided “as is” with no fitness for any specific purpose implied. Remember, as I repeatedly state in all my posts – I am not an electronics person. I’m just fumbling my way through, learning as I go.
So with all that in mind, I am not able to provide personal support for you attempting to follow or build any of my projects.
What I am happy to attempt to do on a best-efforts basis is the following:
- Answer questions and queries relating to any of my projects when posed in a public forum. This is so that others can benefit from any answers I’m able to give too.
- If asked, provide general opinions on ways to approach one of your projects if it relates to some of my own projects, but again only when asked in a public forum.
I can’t guarantee that I’ll notice your question and it might take me several days to respond if I do.
What I don’t do is:
- Enter into detailed private correspondence about any of my projects.
- Give you personal support on your personal projects no matter how similar it is to one of mine.
- Help getting started with electronics or microcontrollers. I’ve written up some ideas for that here: Getting Started.
- Accept offers of payment for support or development work of any kind.
The public forums I prefer, and am therefore most likely to reply to, are:
- Comments on my blog – ideally associated with the blog post they are posted against.
- Mastodon and MakerTube.
- My own discord server.
Other forums that I’ll try to answer when I notice, but can’t guarantee I’ll be reading:
- YouTube comments.
- Facebook comments.
Forums I’m unlikely to use are:
- Twitter (I refuse to call it anything else).
- Private or direct messages on any of the above (Facebook, Mastodon, Discord, etc).
- Anywhere else you might find me, but I haven’t mentioned already.
If you email me with a query, then if I answer it will probably be to suggest we move it to a more public forum.
