Lo-Fi Orchestra – Saturn from The Planets

Inspired by the legendary Tomita, the Lo-Fi Orchestra presents Saturn from Gustav Holst’s Planets Suite.

This is using the same Lo-Fi Orchestra setup as Jupiter, which is detailed in full here.

There is a lot of dynamic nuance in the original, but unfortunately the Lo-Fi Orchestra doesn’t really do nuance, it is mostly “on” or “off”, so I’m afraid much of the subtleties of the original are somewhat lost when converted over into 8-bit sound!  If you are a fan of the original orchestration, you might want to look away now…

This has been programmed in from scratch from the original orchestral score and the composer’s own arrangement for two pianos.
